jrs wants to buy this murakami painting that we nicknamed "the soccerball," but neither of us can fathom how much it possibly costs. we went to see it at the gagosian on madison avenue.

saturday: jrs and i went to the tasting room in nolita and sat at the second table from the left (the row against the wall) in this picture. the couple sitting next to us bickered, sent their food back, and complained that the cuisine was "too american." they also argued with the waiter about whiskey. we, on the other hand, wiped our plates clean.

finally! the famous soup dumplings you get at this busy restaurant in china town. like all things that taste good, nn says the secret is in the fat.
